Teriyaki Beef Skewers

Serves 6

This recipe requires a little forethought as it needs marinating for at least 3 hours, but then it’s cooked in just a few minutes


  • 2 large red onions
  • 500g rump steak, sliced thinly
  • 60ml teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 spring onions


  1. Cut each onion into 12 wedges and thread onto 6 skewers with the beef.
  2. Combine sauce, paste, garlic and sugar then brush mixture over skewers. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
  3. Cook under a grill or on a barbecue until browned all over and cooked to preference.
  4. Serve sprinkled with spring onion.
