Pulled Beef Tacos with Pickled Cabbage

The perfect combination of flavours, spiced-up, succulent slow-cooked beef meets the tang of pickled cabbage, the creaminess of feta cheese and the freshness of coriander and lime.

Made with the Lakeland 6L Slow Cooker.

Ingredients

For the pulled beef

  • 900g (2lb) flank or sirloin steak
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 330ml bottle of light beer or beef stock
  • Juice of 1 lime

To serve

  • Tortillas
  • Jar of pickled cabbage
  • Feta cheese
  • Fresh coriander
  • Fresh limes, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Mix together all of the spices and rub over the meat. Put into a slow cooker and
    pour over the beer/stock and lime juice. Cook for 5-6 hours on Low or 4 hours on High.
  2. To serve, add some of the slow-cooked steak to the tortillas, top with a spoonful of pickled cabbage, crumbled feta, a sprinkling of fresh coriander and lime wedges.
