Halloween Monster Burgers

Halloween isn’t all about trick or treat chocolate and sweets – there’s a whole host of spooky savouries you can make too – like our monster burgers, which come in three devilishly delicious guises.

Ingredients

Pumpkin burgers

  • Mini seeded brioche buns
  • Mini beef burgers
  • Medium tomatoes
  • Little gem lettuce
  • Stalk of one pepper

Monster burgers 

  • Mini seeded brioche buns
  • Mini beef burgers
  • A generous helping of ketchup
  • Sliced cheddar – to cut into teeth
  • Sliced gherkins – to make the tongues
  • Olives with pimento – for the eyes

Spooky spider burgers 

  • Mini seeded brioche buns
  • Mini beef burgers
  • Little gem lettuce
  • Sweet potato fries – for the legs
  • Sliced crinkle-cut gherkins – for the tongues
  • Mini mozzarella balls and black olives – for the eyes

Instructions

Pumpkin burgers

To make the pumpkin stalk, remove the stalk from the top of a pepper, cut a small hole in the top of the bun and push the pepper stalk inside. You can hold the stalk in place with a cocktail stick while you’re serving – just make sure it’s removed before any little monsters bite into it.

Monster burgers 

To keep the eyes in place, stick cocktail sticks into the buns and pop the olives on top. As above, make sure the cocktail sticks are removed before handing round.

Spooky spider burgers 

To make the eyes, cut mini mozzarella balls in half, then slice rounds from the middle of black olives and place on top. Again, you can hold these in place with cocktail sticks, as long as you remove them before serving.
