Green Tomato Chutney
Makes approximately 8 x 1lb jars of chutney
Ingredients
- 10 medium chillies
- 15g fresh ginger
- 250g currants
- 625g onions, chopped
- 2kg green tomatoes, diced
- 500g apples, chopped
- 500g sugar
- 570ml vinegar
- 2tsp sea salt
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Tie the chillies and ginger in a muslin square, then place in a large preserving pan with the other ingredients.
- Stir well and bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer until mixture is reduced to a thick chutney.
- Remove the muslin parcel, pour into warm jars, and top with our Twist-Off Lids.
